In order to bring about sustainable socio-political change, a strong civil society is needed that can articulate its concerns and ideas and integrate them into political decision-making processes. After all, it is usually the civil society actors themselves who are directly affected by problems in their community, city or country and who advocate a solution at the next higher political level. Needs and interests that have not yet been taken into account are represented by spokespersons from civil society and placed on the political agenda, developing new, innovative approaches to solutions.
